Two Pendants

I'm very lazy person. This pendant was made about two month ago, but it was bother for me to photograph it. I made it being inspirited by beautiful works of Laura McCabe.

I named it after the name of its new owner, a very pretty and beautiful girl.

There were used Czech glass buttons, Swarovski stones and even vintage stone made in Czechoslovakia!

Embroidered necklace is made from two parts connected by closures on each side of the neck. There were used vintage Czech glass stones and beads, and tiny Japanese seed beads.

It is a new pendant with czech glass button. It was very difficult to make it because the button is iridescent. In order to highlight the button I mixed eight types of seed beads and countless fire-polished round czech beads.

Moreover I used beads with color change coating. They change their color depending the temperature changing:

Another pendant with czech glass button (I have a lot of buttons :)) ). It seems to me that it is something eastern in this pendant. Something harem.

This pendant was beaded with tiny japanese 15/0 seed beads. The central element is czech glass button. The flower is carved opalite.

There so many things have been happened since I wrote here last time. First of all I have finished my education at last and have received an MSc degree of medicine. The last few months were intense, but they have passed and moreover I have got a job of my dream. But, despite everything, all free time I devote to beading.

For successful graduation from university I made a present to myself - a good camera – Nikon D90. For the present it is more "clever" than I ;) , however I hope to cope with it with time and to make more professional photos :)

Fashion Colorworks 2010 Beading Contest's Finalists

Fashion Colorworks 2010 Beading Contest

I already wrote about my participation in Zoya's contest. I have submitted two works in two of the allowed color combinations: Amparo Blue, Turquoise, Pink Champagne and Tomato Puree, Fusion Coral, Violet. You can check out the entries here. Today I have learned that Artbeads.com, the main contest's sponsor, has published an information about the contest on its Facebook page with one of my works as a preview. I don't know why has been chosen just this work, but I was appreciated to see it there ;-)

Fairies Dance

Here is my last "creation" called Fairies Dance. Tiny bicone beads look like a lot of Tinkerbells dancing in the heart of the forest.
The central pendant is ruby in zoisite. I have bought it a long time ago but I didn't like it too much. At first I didn't plan to add any gemstone to this necklace, however the stone and the necklace were so perfect match, that I decided to include it in my work.

At last I can show some complete work. I have bought many, no - VERY many vintage bohemian and Western Germany glass cabochons. These three were made in Western Germany approximately in 1960. That is why I called the necklace "Once in the Spring". I love it so much that I don't sell it to anyone. It is mine! :P

It’s been a few weeks since I wrote anything. At first I had to finish my thesis. Afterward I received a new issue and decided to take a part in the contest - Fashion Colorworks 2010. Therefore now I am working day and night on two works at once :). But today is Valentines day and, of course, I have found a moment to make this ring for my boyfriend.

I have been reading this newsletter since it began be published (about three years) and I should to note it is better from issue to issue.

You will find there various tutorials, articles about artists from different countries,detailed information about exhibitions, review of literature novelties and more additional interesting and useful information.

I recommend to subscribe to the newsletter and you will receive each new issue to your e-mail box. Oh! I forgot to say: the newsletter is issued once per month.

Crazy Agat

At last I have finished this necklace. It was almost ready as early as last month, but because of Chinese custom I couldn't receive my agate beads.
Yes, yes, I know it looks crazy, but the necklace such as the name of gemstone (Crazy Agate). :-)
All seed beads, except olive gold- luster, are 15/0 size. I used it in order to achieve monochromatic effect of each segment.
While I was working on the necklace I watched "X files" (I adore this serial!) and last beads were sewed on simultaneously with ending of ninth season. :-)
I understand that the design is very unusual, therefore feel free saying all what you think about it, even if it is terrible to your mind. :-)

Silver Necklace

Somewhere a year ago I bought a wonderful crystal cabochon. And only this summer I have decided what I want to create with it. I used tiny black pearl, amethyst chips and czech faceted glass beads.

Because I love making several projects at the same time, the necklace has been done for three month. The next project will be finished in the near future. I have received agate beads, I ordered a month ago, at last!!!

It is my first work in bead crochet technique. I made it about a year ago. The big black beads, you can see on the picture, are the little pearls about 3-4mm in diameter.

I was asked to create some pendant for this gold chain. I beaded a small faceted sapphire with 15 size delica 24K gold plated. The technique is peyote.

Chicken

It was planned as a chicken. But after finishing making the second wing, I realized that their form and size are not of chicken. Thus it was formed such Frankenstein: semi-chicken, semi-hen.
